Sizzling Beef with Onions & Peppers

Ingredients

For the beef

  • 500 g (1 lb) beef (sirloin, flank, or ribeye)

  • 1 tbsp cornstarch

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tsp oil

  • ½ tsp black pepper

Vegetables

  • 1 large onion, cut into chunks

  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced

  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Sauce

  • 3 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce

  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 tsp sugar or honey

  • ½ cup beef broth or water

  • 1 tsp cornstarch (for thickening)

For cooking

  • 2 tbsp oil (vegetable or peanut)


Instructions

  1. Prep the beef

    • Slice beef thinly against the grain

    • Mix with cornstarch, soy sauce, oil, and pepper

    • Let rest 10–15 minutes

  2. Make the sauce

    • Mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, Worcestershire, sugar, broth, and cornstarch

    • Set aside

  3. Sear the beef

    • Heat pan or wok until very hot

    • Add 1 tbsp oil

    • Sear beef in batches (don’t crowd!)

    • Cook 1–2 minutes per side, remove and set aside

  4. Cook vegetables

    • Add remaining oil

    • Sauté onions until slightly soft but still crisp

    • Add peppers and garlic, cook 1–2 minutes

  5. Combine & sizzle

    • Return beef to pan

    • Pour in sauce

    • Toss everything together until glossy and thick (2–3 minutes)

  6. Serve immediately

    • Best served sizzling hot 🔥
