🥔 Air Fryer Tinned Potatoes (Crispy & Easy)

A super quick way to turn humble canned potatoes into golden, crispy, seasoned bites. Perfect as a side dish, snack, or even breakfast potatoes—with barely any prep.

🧾 Ingredients

  • 1 can whole or baby potatoes (drained)
  • Spray oil (like Frylight) or 1 tsp oil
  • 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic salt
  • ½ tsp mixed herbs
  • Salt & black pepper to taste

🔪 Instructions

  1. Drain & dry
Drain the potatoes well and pat dry with paper towels (this helps them crisp up).
  2. Season
    Add potatoes to a bowl.
Sprinkle in Cajun spice, paprika, garlic salt, mixed herbs, salt, and pepper.
Spray lightly with oil and toss to coat.
  3. Air fry
    • Preheat air fryer to 200°C (400°F)
    • Add potatoes in a single layer
    • Cook for 18 minutes
  4. Shake for even crisping
Shake the basket every 5–6 minutes so they crisp evenly.
  5. Serve
Once golden and crispy, serve immediately.

❓ Q&A

Q: Do I need to boil them first?
A: Nope—that’s the beauty of canned potatoes, they’re already cooked.

Q: Why aren’t mine crispy?
A: Most common reasons:

  • Not dried properly
  • Too crowded in the basket
  • Not enough heat (stick to 200°C)

Q: Can I make them extra crispy?
A: Yes—add 2–3 more minutes at the end or lightly smash them before cooking.

Q: Are they Weight Watchers friendly?
A: Yes! Especially if you use spray oil—very low in points.

💡 Tips

  • Lightly crush them before air frying for crispy edges
  • Add parmesan at the end for extra flavor
  • Great with eggs, chicken, or as a quick snack.
