🌿 Spinach Rolls Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 cups fresh spinach (or frozen, thawed and squeezed dry)

  • ½ cup ricotta cheese (or cream cheese)

  • ¼ cup grated mozzarella cheese

  • ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

  • ½ teaspoon chili flakes (optional)

  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)

  • 1 egg (for egg wash)


Instructions:

  1. Prepare Filling:
    Heat olive oil in a pan. Add onion and garlic; sauté until soft.
    Add spinach and cook until wilted.
    Remove from heat and mix in ricotta, mozzarella, parmesan, salt, and pepper. Let cool.

  2. Assemble Rolls:
    Roll out puff pastry on a lightly floured surface.
    Spread the spinach mixture evenly, leaving a small border around the edges.
    Roll up tightly like a log, then slice into 1-inch pieces.

  3. Bake:
    Place rolls on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
    Brush tops with beaten egg.
    Bake at 200°C (400°F) for 15–20 minutes or until golden brown.

  4. Serve:
    Serve warm with garlic sauce, yogurt dip, or marinara. 😋

  • You can add feta cheese for extra tangy flavor.

  • Try adding a pinch of nutmeg — it enhances the spinach taste beautifully!

  • For a healthier version, use whole wheat pastry or tortillas.
