STEP 1: Prepare the Cake Mixture

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy.

Add in the sour cream and mix until well combined and fluffy. 
STEP 2: Assemble the Cake

Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.

Sprinkle the lemon cake mix evenly across the bottom of the dish — do not mix with any liquid.

Pour the cream cheese mixture over the cake mix. Gently spread it across the surface with a spatula to cover evenly.
