🦞 Grilled Lobster Tails with Garlic Lemon Butter
Ingredients (Serves 2–4)
For the lobster:
-
4 lobster tails
-
2 tbsp olive oil
-
Salt, to taste
-
Freshly ground black pepper
-
Paprika (optional, for color)
For the garlic lemon butter sauce:
-
4 tbsp unsalted butter
-
3 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
-
1 tsp lemon zest
-
1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
-
Pinch of salt
-
Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
🔪 Step 1: Prep the Lobster Tails
-
Using kitchen shears, cut down the top center of the shell lengthwise.
-
Gently pull the meat upward, resting it on top of the shell (this is called “butterflying”).
-
Brush the meat with olive oil.
-
Season with salt, pepper, and a light sprinkle of paprika.
🔥 Step 2: Grill the Lobster
-
Preheat grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F / 200°C).
-
Place lobster tails shell-side down on the grill.
-
Grill for 6–8 minutes, until the meat is opaque and reaches an internal temperature of 140–145°F (60–63°C).
-
Do not overcook — lobster becomes tough quickly.
-
🧈 Step 3: Make the Garlic Lemon Butter Sauce
-
Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.
-
Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30–60 seconds (do not brown).
-
Remove from heat.
-
Stir in lemon juice, lemon zest, parsley, salt, and red pepper flakes.
🍋 Step 4: Finish & Serve
-
Spoon the warm garlic lemon butter over the grilled lobster.
-
Serve immediately with extra lemon wedges.
