Grilled Fish with Steamed Vegetables

Ingredients

For the Fish:

  • 2 fish fillets (such as tilapia, cod, salmon, or snapper)

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

  • 2 garlic cloves (minced)

  • 1 tsp dried herbs (thyme, dill, or oregano)

  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Steamed Vegetables:

  • 1 cup broccoli florets

  • 1 cup sliced carrots

  • 1 cup green beans or zucchini

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Optional: a drizzle of olive oil or a squeeze of lemon

Instructions

1. Marinate the Fish

  • In a small bowl, mix olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, herbs, salt, and pepper.

  • Rub the marinade over both sides of the fish fillets.

  • Let them sit for 10–15 minutes while you prep the vegetables.

2. Steam the Vegetables

  • Bring a pot of water to a boil and place a steamer basket on top.

  • Add broccoli, carrots, and green beans to the basket.

  • Cover and steam for 5–7 minutes, or until vegetables are tender-crisp.

  • Season with salt, pepper, and optionally olive oil or lemon juice.

3. Grill the Fish

  • Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.

  • Grill fish for about 3–4 minutes per side (depending on thickness) until cooked through and flaky.

  • You can also use a stovetop pan with a little olive oil if no grill is available.

4. Serve

  • Plate the grilled fish alongside the steamed vegetables.

  • Garnish with fresh herbs or lemon wedges if desired.

Tips

  • For extra flavor, add a touch of butter or a sauce like garlic herb butter or lemon dill sauce.

  • You can use frozen vegetables – just adjust steaming time accordingly.
