🧀 Crispy Cauliflower Steaks
✅ Ingredients:
-
1 large head of cauliflower
-
2 eggs (or plant-based alternative)
-
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
-
1 cup breadcrumbs (or pork rinds for keto)
-
1 tsp garlic powder
-
1 tsp onion powder
-
½ tsp paprika (optional)
-
Salt & pepper to taste
-
Fresh parsley (for garnish)
-
Olive oil spray or drizzle
🔥 Instructions:
1. Prep the Cauliflower
-
Remove leaves and stem from the cauliflower but keep the core intact.
-
Slice into ¾ to 1-inch thick “steaks” — you’ll get about 3–4 good slices; save the leftover florets for another use.
2. Prepare Coating Station
-
In one bowl, beat the eggs.
-
In a second bowl, mix together breadcrumbs, Parmesan, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
3. Coat the Steaks
-
Dip each cauliflower steak into the egg wash, coating both sides.
-
Then press into the breadcrumb mixture, coating thoroughly.
4. Cook
Oven Method:
-
Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
-
Place steaks on a lined baking sheet. Spray or drizzle with olive oil.
-
Bake for 20–25 minutes, flipping once halfway, until golden brown and crispy.
Air Fryer Method:
-
Preheat air fryer to 390°F (200°C).
-
Place steaks in a single layer. Spray with oil.
-
Air fry for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway.
5. Serve
-
Garnish with fresh parsley.
-
Optional: top with more cheese, serve with garlic aioli, marinara, or ranch dip.
🍴 Tips:
-
Use almond flour and crushed pork rinds for a keto/gluten-free version.
-
Make it spicy with chili flakes or cayenne in the crumb mix.
-
Leftovers reheat great in the air fryer!
