Discover my Creamy Parmesan Garlic Chicken recipe—tender chicken breasts smothered in a rich, velvety garlic-parmesan sauce that’s ready in just 30 minutes. The perfect balance of easy and impressive!
Ingredients
- 4 small-medium chicken breasts, or 2 large halved
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3-4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup light cream, or heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning, or oregano
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 cup spinach, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Chicken:Season chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper on both sides. These seasonings form the foundation of flavor, so don’t be shy here.
- Heat the Pan:Warm olive oil in a largeskillet over medium-high heat until it shimmers slightly but doesn’t smoke. A properly heated pan ensures beautiful browning.
- Cook the Chicken:Add seasoned chicken to the hot pan, cooking undisturbed for 5-6 minutes until golden brown. Flip and cook another 5-6 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F. Remove to a plate and cover loosely with foil.
- Sauté the Garlic:Reduce heat to medium and add minced garlic to the same pan, stirring constantly for 30-60 seconds until fragrant but not browned. This quick cook releases flavor while preventing bitterness.
- Create the Sauce:Pour in the light cream, scraping the pan to incorporate all those flavorful browned bits. Add Italian seasoning and bring to a gentle simmer, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add Parmesan:Stir in the grated parmesan cheese until completely melted and the sauce is smooth and velvety. The sauce should coat the back of a spoon.
- Incorporate Spinach (if using):Add chopped spinach, stirring until just wilted, about 1-2 minutes. The residual heat will continue cooking it to perfection.
- Return the Chicken:Nestle the chicken back into the sauce, spooning some over each piece. Allow to simmer gently for 2-3 minutes to reunite the flavors and warm the chicken through.
- Serve:Plate the chicken, generously spooning the creamy sauce over each piece. I like to add a final sprinkle of fresh parmesan and cracked pepper for presentation.
