Cheesy Ground Beef & Potato Casserole

500g ground beef

4–5 medium potatoes (thinly sliced)

1 small onion (finely chopped)

2 cloves garlic (minced)

1 cup heavy cream or milk

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

½ cup sour cream (optional, for extra creaminess)

½ tsp black pepper

1 tsp paprika

½ tsp dried oregano or Italian seasoning

2 tbsp oil or butter

2 tbsp chopped green onions (for garnish)

Preheat Oven
Preheat to 180°C (350°F). Grease a baking dish. -
Cook the Beef
Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
Add onion and garlic, sauté until soft.
Add ground beef, salt, pepper, paprika, and oregano.
Cook until browned and fully done. Drain excess fat if needed. -
Prepare the Potatoes
Slice potatoes thinly (about 3–4 mm thick).
Lightly season with a little salt and pepper. -
Layer the Casserole

First layer: half of the potatoes

Second layer: half of the beef mixture

Add some cream and a spoon of sour cream

Sprinkle mozzarella & cheddar

Repeat layers

Cover with foil and bake for 35–40 minutes.
Remove foil and bake another 10–15 minutes until cheese is golden and bubbly. -
Garnish & Serve
Sprinkle chopped green onions on top.
