Crispy Cheeseburger-Stuffed Egg Rolls
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
1/2 small onion, finely diced
1 tablespoon ketchup
1 tablespoon yellow mustard
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
12 egg roll wrappers
Vegetable oil, for frying
Pickles, finely chopped (optional)
Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
Dipping Sauce (optional):
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon relish
1 teaspoon vinegar
Pinch of sugar
Directions:
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and diced onion until beef is fully browned and the onion is soft. Drain excess grease.
Stir in ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Let simmer for 2-3 minutes, then remove from heat.
Let the beef mixture cool slightly, then stir in shredded cheddar cheese and optional chopped pickles.
Lay out one egg roll wrapper on a clean surface with a corner facing you. Add 2 tablespoons of the filling across the center. Fold the bottom point up over the filling, then fold in the sides and roll tightly. Seal the edge with water.
Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.
Heat about 1 inch of oil in a deep skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat (350°F).
Fry egg rolls in batches for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
Optional: Sprinkle with sesame seeds while hot for that “burger bun” feel.
Mix dipping sauce ingredients in a small bowl and serve with warm egg rolls.
