Q & A
Q1: Can I use cream cheese instead of brie?
A: Yes! Cream cheese works perfectly and gives a classic jalapeño popper taste. Brie just makes it extra creamy and gourmet.
Q2: How do I reduce the spiciness?
A: Remove all seeds and white membrane from the jalapeños. You can also soak the halves in cold water for 10 minutes before stuffing.
Q3: Can I make them in the air fryer?
A: Yes. Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 8–10 minutes until the cheese melts and jalapeños soften.
Q4: Do I have to use bacon?
A: No. Bacon is optional. Without bacon they are lighter and still delicious.
Q5: What can I use instead of blueberry preserves?
A: You can use:
-
Strawberry jam
-
Raspberry jam
-
Cranberry sauce
-
Fresh blueberries cooked down with a little sugar
Q6: Can I prepare them ahead of time?
A: Yes. Assemble them, refrigerate for up to 24 hours, and bake when needed.
Q7: How do I keep the cheese from spilling out?
A: Use slightly chilled brie or cream cheese so it melts more slowly. You can also avoid overfilling.
Q8: How many does this recipe serve?
A: 10 jalapeños make about 20 poppers, enough for 4–6 people.
