🥪 Classic BLT Sandwich (Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato)

📝 Ingredients (for 2 sandwiches):

  • 4 slices of bread (white, sourdough, or whole grain — your choice)

  • 6 slices of bacon

  • 4–6 slices of tomato (ripe, fresh)

  • 4 leaves of crisp lettuce (romaine or iceberg)

  • 2–4 tbsp mayonnaise

  • Salt & black pepper (to taste)

  • Optional: avocado slices, fried egg, mustard, or hot sauce


🔪 Instructions:

1. Cook the bacon:

  • Place bacon strips in a cold pan and turn heat to medium.

  • Cook until crispy, flipping occasionally (about 8–10 minutes).

  • Transfer to a paper towel to drain excess fat.

2. Toast the bread:

  • Lightly toast the bread slices in a toaster or pan until golden brown.

3. Prep the veggies:

  • Wash and dry lettuce leaves.

  • Slice tomatoes into medium-thick slices. Sprinkle lightly with salt and pepper.

4. Assemble the sandwich:

  • Spread mayonnaise on one side of each slice of bread.

  • Layer lettuce, tomato slices, and bacon on two slices of bread.

  • Top with the remaining bread slices (mayo side down).

5. Slice & serve:

  • Cut the sandwiches diagonally or in halves.

  • Serve immediately with chips, fries, or a pickle on the side.

  • Spicy BLT: Add a dash of hot sauce or jalapeños.

  • BLAT: Add avocado slices for a creamy twist.

  • Egg BLT: Top with a sunny-side-up or poached egg for breakfast-style.

  • Healthier version: Use turkey bacon and whole grain bread.
