๐ด Serves: 8โ10
โฑ๏ธ Prep Time: 20 minutes | Chill Time: 2โ4 hours | No baking required
๐งพ Ingredients:
โจ Vanilla Pudding Layer
-
1 box (5.1 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
-
2 cups cold milk (whole milk preferred)
-
1 tsp vanilla extract (optional but adds flavor)
๐ Fruit & Layers
-
4โ5 ripe bananas, sliced
-
1 box vanilla wafers (Nilla Wafers or any brand)
-
2 cups whipped cream or Cool Whip (plus extra for topping)
-
Optional garnish:
-
Crushed vanilla wafers
-
Extra banana slices
-
Caramel drizzle or vanilla bean flecks
-
๐ฉโ๐ณ Instructions:
1. Prepare the Vanilla Pudding
-
In a large mixing bowl, combine the pudding mix, cold milk, and vanilla extract.
-
Whisk for about 2 minutes until it thickens.
-
Let sit for 5โ10 minutes to fully set.
2. Slice the Bananas
-
Peel and slice 4โ5 ripe bananas into even, round slices.
-
(Optional tip: To prevent browning, gently toss the slices in a little lemon juice or pineapple juice.)
3. Build the Trifle Layers
In a large glass trifle dish, glass bowl, or individual jars, build the dessert in the following layers:
-
Layer 1: A layer of vanilla wafers at the bottom
-
Layer 2: A layer of banana slices
-
Layer 3: Spoon a generous layer of vanilla pudding
-
Layer 4: Add a layer of whipped cream or Cool Whip
๐ Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used or you reach the top of your dish.
4. Garnish & Chill
-
Top the final layer with extra whipped cream, crushed wafers, banana slices, and/or caramel drizzle.
-
Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (or overnight). This helps the wafers soften and the flavors meld beautifully.
โ Tips for Success

Use very ripe bananas for the best sweetness and flavor.

Trifle can be made a day ahead โ it gets better as it chills!
