🍯 Baked Pears with Berries, Honey, Walnuts & Blue Cheese

Ingredients:

  • 3 ripe pears (halved and cored)

  • 1 tbsp olive oil or melted butter

  • 1/2 cup mixed fresh berries (blueberries, raspberries, or strawberries)

  • 1/4 cup crumbled blue cheese

  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts (lightly toasted)

  • 2 tbsp honey (plus extra for drizzle)

  • A pinch of cinnamon (optional)

  • Fresh thyme or mint leaves (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven:
Set oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking dish with parchment paper.

  2. Prepare Pears:
Brush pear halves with olive oil or melted butter and place them cut side up in the baking dish.

  3. Bake the Pears:
Bake for 20 minutes until soft and slightly golden.

  4. Add Toppings:
Remove from the oven, fill the center of each pear with berries, blue cheese, and walnuts.

  5. Drizzle with Honey:
Drizzle honey over the top and sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon if desired.

  6. Bake Again:
Return to the oven for another 8–10 minutes, until the cheese is slightly melted and the berries are juicy.

  7. Serve:
Garnish with fresh thyme or mint, drizzle a little extra honey, and serve warm.

💡 Tips:

  • For a lighter option, replace blue cheese with goat cheese or feta.

  • Add a scoop of Greek yogurt or vanilla ice cream if serving as dessert.

  • Works beautifully with Bosc, Bartlett, or Anjou pears.
