AIR FRYER POACHED EGGS (EASY METHOD)

Yes — you can poach eggs in an air fryer using small ramekins or silicone cups!

Ingredients (per 2 eggs)

  • 2 large eggs

  • Cooking spray or a little oil (optional)

  • Hot water (enough to fill ramekins halfway)

  • Pinch of salt (optional)

🍳 Instructions

1. Preheat the air fryer

  • Set to 200°C / 390°F for 3 minutes.

2. Prepare your ramekins

Use small heat-safe ramekins or silicone egg cups.

  • Lightly oil the bottom.

  • Add 3–4 tablespoons of hot water to each.

3. Crack in the eggs

  • Gently crack one egg into each ramekin.

  • Keep the yolk intact.

4. Air fry

  • Place ramekins in the air fryer basket.

  • Cook at 180°C / 350°F for 5–7 minutes.

    • 5 minutes = soft, runny yolk

    • 6 minutes = medium

    • 7 minutes = firmer whites, jammy yolk

5. Remove and drain

  • Lift ramekins carefully (they’re hot!).

  • Use a slotted spoon to pull out the poached eggs.

  • Drain on kitchen paper.

6. Serve

Just like in your photo — on toast or with bacon.
They pair especially well with:

  • Bacon rashers

  • Buttered toast

  • Sriracha or ketchup

  • Avocado slices

🧂 BONUS: AIR FRYER BACON

If you want the same setup as your picture:

  1. Lay bacon strips in the basket.

  2. Air fry at 200°C / 390°F for 6–8 minutes, flipping halfway if needed.

  3. Place poached eggs on top.

Q&A / Troubleshooting

Q: Why do my poached eggs come out rubbery?

A: They’re overcooked — reduce time to 5–5.5 minutes.
Air fryers vary, so find the sweet spot for yours.

Q: My whites are still runny. How do I fix this?

A: Increase cook time by 30–60 seconds.
Also check:

  • Did you add hot water? Cold water slows the cooking.

Q: Do I need vinegar like traditional poaching?

A: No — vinegar isn’t needed because the ramekin keeps the egg contained.

Q: Can I do multiple eggs at once?

A: Yes, but each egg needs its own ramekin or cup.
They can all cook together in the basket.

Q: Can I poach eggs without ramekins?

A: Not recommended — the egg will run everywhere in the basket.
You need something to hold the water and egg.

Q: Can I make hard-poached eggs?

A: Yes — cook for 8–9 minutes.

Q: Why is the top of my egg dull or wrinkly?

A: If your air fryer has strong top heat, cover ramekins lightly with foil.
This stops the yolk from forming a dry skin.

🔧 Optional Variations

  • Garlic butter poached eggs: add ½ tsp garlic butter to the hot water

  • Herbed eggs: sprinkle parsley or chives

  • Creamy eggs: add 1 tbsp milk to the ramekin mixture before cooking
