Ingredients:
– 2-4 Small Yellow or White Onions
– 1 pound Ground Beef
– 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
– 1 egg
– Salt, to taste
– Pepper, to taste
– 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
– 12 oz package Bacon
– 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
– Chives or green onions, for garnish

Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
2. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, cheese, salt, and pepper until well combined.
3. Carefully cut the ends off each onion and split them diagonally. Remove the outer 2-3 layers of the onion without breaking them. Separate the layers for the outer shell of the bomb.
4. Take enough meat mixture to form a ball that fits inside the two halves of the onion, ensuring the seams slightly meet.
5. Wrap each onion with 1-3 pieces of bacon, crisscrossing two over the top and wrapping another around the side. Secure with a toothpick if needed.
6. Place the prepared onions on a rack in a sheet pan or foil-lined sheet pan. Bake at 425°F (220°C) for 45 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
7. Remove from the oven, baste with your favorite BBQ sauce, and bake for an additional 5 minutes. Allow it to rest for 10-15 minutes, then serve and enjoy!

Notes:
For a smokier flavor, you can use smoked cheddar cheese or add a dash of liquid smoke to the meat mixture.
