Cheesy Pierogi Casserole
Ingredients
For the Casserole:
2 lbs frozen pierogies (cheese and potato variety)
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup sour cream
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup milk
1 tbsp butter
3 cloves garlic, minced
Salt and pepper, to taste
Fresh chives, chopped (for garnish)
Directions
Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Prepare Cheese Sauce:
In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Add heavy cream and milk, stirring to combine. Bring to a simmer, then stir in half of the cheddar and mozzarella cheese. Mix until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth. Season with salt and pepper.
Assemble Casserole:
In a greased baking dish, arrange the frozen pierogies in an even layer. Pour the cheese sauce over the pierogies, ensuring they are fully covered.
Sprinkle the remaining cheddar and mozzarella cheese on top.
Bake:
Cover the dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
Serve:
Garnish with fresh chives and serve hot.
