Ingredients (Makes 4 burgers)

For the Patties

  • 500 g ground beef (or chicken mince)

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

  • 1 tsp paprika or chili flakes (optional)

  • 1 tbsp breadcrumbs (optional, for juiciness)

For Assembly

  • 4 burger buns

  • ½ cup pizza sauce or marinara

  • 1½ cups mozzarella cheese, shredded

  • ½ cup sliced pepperoni or cooked beef/chicken sausage

  • ¼ cup sliced olives

  • ¼ cup sliced mushrooms or bell peppers (optional)

  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter


Instructions

  1. Prepare the Patties
    In a bowl, mix mince, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, paprika, and breadcrumbs.
    Shape into 4 equal patties.

  2. Cook the Patties
    Heat a pan or grill with a little oil.
    Cook patties on medium heat for 4–5 minutes per side until fully cooked and nicely browned.

  3. Toast the Buns
    Lightly butter or oil the buns and toast on a pan until golden.

  4. Assemble Pizza Burgers
    Place patties on the bottom buns.
    Spoon pizza sauce over each patty.
    Top with mozzarella, pepperoni, olives, and vegetables.

  5. Melt the Cheese
    Cover the pan with a lid on low heat for 1–2 minutes or bake at 180°C (350°F) for 5–7 minutes until cheese melts.

  6. Serve
    Add the top buns, slice, and serve hot.
