🧁 Ingredients

For the Cake

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 2 cups granulated sugar

  • 4 large eggs

  • 1 cup whole milk

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter

  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 2 tsp baking powder

  • ½ tsp salt

For the Hot Butter Glaze

  • 1 cup sugar

  • ½ cup butter

  • ¼ cup water

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

(The glaze melts into the cake and forms that smooth ring you see in the photo!)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Make the Cake

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a bundt pan thoroughly.

  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.

  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat the eggs and sugar for 3–4 minutes until pale and fluffy.

  4. Heat the milk and butter together in a saucepan just until the butter melts — don’t boil.

  5. Add the hot milk mixture slowly to the egg mixture while mixing on low.

  6. Stir in vanilla extract.

  7. Add the dry ingredients and mix gently until smooth.

  8. Pour batter into the bundt pan.

  9. Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.

2️⃣ Make the Glaze

  1. Add sugar, butter, and water to a small saucepan.

  2. Heat over medium until butter melts and mixture just begins to simmer.

  3. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.

3️⃣ Glaze the Cake

  1. While the cake is still WARM and still in the pan, poke holes all over with a skewer or fork.

  2. Slowly pour the warm glaze over the cake so it seeps inside.

  3. Let the cake cool completely before turning out onto a plate.

Result

A moist, buttery pound cake with a sweet, glossy glaze soaked throughout — just like your picture!
