Ingredients:

  • 2 ribeye steaks (1 to 1.5 inches thick)

  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced

  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced (cremini or white button work well)

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 tsp fresh thyme (or Β½ tsp dried thyme)

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • Optional: ΒΌ cup beef broth or dry white wine (for deglazing)


Instructions:

STEP 1: Prep the Steaks

  • Bring steaks to room temperature (about 30 minutes on the counter).

  • Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.

STEP 2: Cook the Onions & Mushrooms

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, add 1 tbsp butter and olive oil.

  • Add the sliced onions and a pinch of salt. Cook slowly for about 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden and caramelized.
