π₯© French Onion & Mushroom Ribeye Steaks
Ingredients:

2 ribeye steaks (1 to 1.5 inches thick)

2 large onions, thinly sliced

1 cup mushrooms, sliced (cremini or white button work well)

2 tbsp unsalted butter

1 tbsp olive oil

2 garlic cloves, minced
-
1 tsp fresh thyme (or Β½ tsp dried thyme)

Salt and black pepper, to taste

Optional: ΒΌ cup beef broth or dry white wine (for deglazing)
Instructions:
STEP 1: Prep the Steaks

Bring steaks to room temperature (about 30 minutes on the counter).

Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.
STEP 2: Cook the Onions & Mushrooms

In a large skillet over medium heat, add 1 tbsp butter and olive oil.

Add the sliced onions and a pinch of salt. Cook slowly for about 15β20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden and caramelized.

Add mushrooms, garlic, and thyme. Cook another 5β7 minutes until mushrooms are soft.

Optional: Deglaze the pan with beef broth or wine. Stir and let it reduce slightly.

Transfer mixture to a plate and keep warm.
STEP 3: Sear the Steaks

In the same skillet, increase heat to medium-high. Add 1 tbsp butter.

Sear the ribeyes for about 3β4 minutes per side for medium-rare (adjust for thickness/preference).

Let the steaks rest for 5β10 minutes after cooking.
STEP 4: Serve
