๐Ÿ“ Ingredients:

  • 4 ripe prickly pears, peeled and diced

  • ยฝ cup fresh lime juice (from about 4โ€“5 limes)

  • 4 cups cold water

  • ยผ cup agave syrup or honey (adjust to taste)

  • Ice cubes, for serving

  • Lime slices and fresh mint leaves, for garnish


๐Ÿน Instructions:

Step 1: Prepare the Prickly Pears

  • Carefully peel the prickly pears. Tip: Wear gloves or use a towel to avoid contact with any remaining spines.

  • Dice the peeled fruit and add to a blender.

Step 2: Blend & Strain

  • Add cold water and lime juice to the blender with the prickly pear chunks.

  • Blend until smooth.

  • Pour the mixture through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a large pitcher to remove seeds and pulp.

  • Use a spoon or spatula to press the liquid through, extracting as much juice as possible.

Step 3: Sweeten & Serve

  • Stir in the agave syrup or honey, starting with ยผ cup and adjusting to your preferred sweetness.

  • Chill the agua fresca in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.

  • Serve over ice in glasses and garnish with lime slices and mint leaves.
