This method mimics the traditional poached texture, with set whites and runny yolks, without needing a pot of simmering water.
🥚 Air Fryer Poached Eggs (Ramekin Method)
🍽️ Servings: 1–4 eggs
⏱️ Total Time: 10 minutes
🔥 Air Fryer Temp: 350°F (175°C)
✅ Ingredients:
1 to 4 large eggs
Non-stick cooking spray or a small amount of neutral oil
Water (2 tablespoons per egg)
Salt & pepper (optional, for serving)
🔧 Equipment:
Air fryer
Ramekins or small heat-safe bowls (ceramic or glass)
Tongs or oven mitts
Slotted spoon (optional)
👩🍳 Instructions:
1. Preheat the Air Fryer
Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for about 3–5 minutes. Preheating helps with even cooking.
2. Prepare the Ramekins
Lightly grease each ramekin with cooking spray or a dab of oil to prevent sticking.
Pour 2 tablespoons of water into each ramekin. This water will gently cook the egg and create steam for a poached effect.
3. Add the Eggs
Crack one egg into each prepared ramekin.
Try to avoid breaking the yolk.
4. Air Fry the Eggs
Carefully place the ramekins into the air fryer basket or tray.
Cook at 350°F (175°C) for 5 to 7 minutes, depending on desired doneness:
5 minutes – very runny yolk, soft whites
6 minutes – runny yolk, more set whites
7 minutes – softly set yolk, firm whites
5. Check Doneness & Remove
Open the fryer and gently jiggle the ramekin — the whites should be set but the yolk should still wobble.
Use tongs or oven mitts to carefully remove the hot ramekins.
6. Serve the Eggs
Use a slotted spoon to gently lift the egg from the water.
Drain briefly on a paper towel if desired.
Season with salt, pepper, and serve over toast, salad, or grain bowls.
📝 Tips & Variations:
🧂 Add a splash of vinegar to the water to help the egg hold its shape even better.
🥬 Serve on avocado toast, English muffins, or with sautéed greens.
🍳 Try cracking the eggs into a small bowl first, then sliding them into the ramekin for more control.
