Ingredients
- 2-3 sleeves of saltine crackers
- 1/4 cup of granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons of cinnamon
- 1 cup of butter (2 sticks)
- 1 cup of brown sugar
- 1 (12 oz) bag of white chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and line a large baking sheet with foil or parchment paper. Arrange the saltines in a single layer, covering the entire sheet.
- In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar and cinnamon. Set this mixture aside.
- Melt the butter in a small saucepan, then add the brown sugar. Stir over medium heat until the sugar dissolves and the mixture begins to bubble.
- Let it bubble for 2 more minutes, then pour the mixture over the saltines, spreading evenly with a spatula as needed.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes, or until the sauce bubbles and darkens.
- Remove from the oven and immediately scatter the white chocolate chips over the hot crackers. Wait about 5 minutes for the chips to melt, then spread them into an even layer with a spatula.
- Quickly sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the melted chocolate before it hardens.
- Allow the candy to cool completely, approximately 30-60 minutes, then break into bite-sized pieces.
- Store the candy in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
