Ingredients:
1 lb (450 g) ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (15 oz/425 g) tomato sauce
1 can (14.5 oz/410 g) diced tomatoes
1 tsp dried basil
1 tsp dried oregano
Salt and pepper to taste
8 oz (225 g) pasta (such as penne, rotini, or spaghetti)
1/2 cup (50 g) grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions:
Cook the Pasta:
Boil pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Cook the Beef:
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
Add Vegetables and Sauce:
Add onion and garlic to the skillet. Cook until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.
Stir in tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes to let the flavors meld.
Combine Pasta and Sauce:
Add cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat with the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until heated through.
Serve:
Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
